We Are Not Faceless: March 2017

Phoenix Capital Group would like to introduce to you one of our Business Development Officer's located in PCG's Birmingham, Alabama office: Mara!

More about Mara:

  • Mara was born in Troy, Alabama right as it turned midnight on January 1st!
  • Mara is the oldest of 3, and the oldest of her generation on both sides of her family (Mom & Dad’s).
  • Her siblings, Anna and Sam, both have “normal names” but she says she has no idea where her mom came up with the name ‘Mara’.
  • She attended Catholic School from Kindergarten through High School.
  • Mara is a volleyball player; she played volleyball throughout High School, and was offered to play at the collegiate level, but declined to attend the University of Alabama.
  • She graduated with a degree in Human Environmental Sciences from Alabama – Roll Tide! 😉
  • Her original plan while in school was to become a Physical Therapist, which then changed to Nursing School, and then to Human Environmental Sciences. Now, Mara is in Sales at PCG (and she says she loves it)!
  • During Mara’s 4 years as a student at Alabama, the school won 3 NCAA Football National Championships, which she says made for a pretty fun college experience!
  • Mara’s claim to fame is she had freshman year Math Class with Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons.
  • A proud moment in her life happened recently as she entered the official adult world by purchasing her first car, which is a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
  • Mara most favorite trip was for a friend’s 21st birthday in Las Vegas. She says, “Best week of my life! You just can’t beat being poolside in Vegas!”  (Can we blame her?!)
  • Favorite drink of all time: Cosmo.
  • Favorite food of all time: Macaroni and cheese.
  • She has never traveled outside of the United States, but really want to visit Vatican City. *In contrary to that, she has a very serious phobia of flying.*
  • Her favorite band is Phish, and has seen them live upwards of 15 times.
  • Mara loves all animals, and I has a 5-year-old lab mix named Wilson, who we are told keeps her sane.
  • Lastly, Mara says “I did not know much about the Trucking Industry prior to working for Phoenix Capital Group, but I have learned a TON, and I look forward to learning more at the Great American Truck Show in Louisville this March!”
